The program reaches out to acommunity of 100000 existing Cocoa farmers and adding 7500 new farmers everyyear. It is hardly surprising then, that the Cocoa tree is still called theCadbury tree! Describe the broad function and scopeof the position: 

The Bigdata Senior Architect is accountable to describe the structure and behaviour ofa big data solution and how a MDLZ big data solution can be delivered (by using the Big data Ecosystem of Hadoop). The Big data Senior Architect definesdesign options and standards for all aspects of the entire Big data EcoSystem.These covers the following aspects:

Innovation and System setup
o   Define for MDLZ a best practice technicalenvironment and tool landscape for a Big Data EcoSystem and align this with allStakeholders (plannedis a full Ecosystem with Hadoop on cloud or premise covering Data integration,Data Governance, Workflow Mgt. Web GUI, Cluster Mgt. GUI, Data Processing,Machine Processing, NoSQL Store, Stream Processing, Graph Processing, DataSearch, Data Security, Cluster Support Service)
o   Design and commercialize the agreed Big DataEcoSystem with all relevant tools
o   Develop an operations and support concept for theentire MDLZ  Big DataEcoSystem
o   Align the Full RACI Matrix with all relevant areas(Internal teams,  HP and other vendors, etc…) 
o   Design and implement a concept to connect this BigData EcoSystem within our existing standard BI solutions to enable crossplatform analytics and a cross platform lifecycle Mgt.
o   Identify best practices and new trends on BigData
o   Alignment with Vendor Roadmaps

Data and Information Lifecyle Mgt
o   Define common standards and guidelines for Hadoopmodelling, data flow process structures and data integrity.
o   Develop and provide an information overview
o   Define a Data Management and InformationLifecycle Management concept for the Big data environment and related BIsolutions (e.g. for long termdata)

Collaboration
o   Enforce Information sharing across the BI andAnalytical Teams
o   Work closely with the analytical teams to supporton building up one time analytics
o   Act as mentor and coach on best practice of BigData technologies and provide SME knowledge on technology usage 
o   Work closely with the analytical teams to coverspecific requirements 
o   Act as an advisor to the Enterprise Software teamto ensure Mondelez is compliant with licensing allocations and in theprocurement of new/additional Big Data tool licenses as needed.
o   Support the incident management of P1 and P2 Bigdata EcoSystem issues around the globe

Governance
o   Support system design and sizing activities forproject and running mode
o   Define standard guidelines for Big Data Backend andFrontend application development
o   Act as program lead for bigger and innovative BigData initiatives
o   QA for all Big Data projects
o   Support MDLZ portfolio process (Budget planning,benefit costs analysis, AR &  RFPsupport)
o   Responsible for managing the Big Data licenseportfolio.

Qualifications

 
COMPETENCIES/ABILITIES:  Theseare key observable/measurable skills, knowledge and behaviors required thatcontribute to successful performance in the position. (e.g., drive for results,customer focus, etc.).
 
  • Should have experience in designing solutions for multiple large data warehouses with a good understanding of cluster and parallel architecture as well as high-scale or distributed RDBMS and deep knowledge on NoSQL platforms.
  • Extensive know how on NoSQL solutions especially Hadoop and the related EcoSystem. This mean deep know how on Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra. Good experience in Impala, Oozie, Mahout, Flume, ZooKeeper and/or Sqoop.
  • A firm understanding of programming and scripting languages like Java, Linux, PHP, Ruby, Phyton and R.
  • Experience in working with ETL tools such as InfoSphere DataStage, Informatica, Talend and/or Pentaho. 
  • Experience with one of the large cloud-computing infrastructure solutions like Amazon Web Services or Elastic MapReduce.
  • Good understanding of data security and privacy concerns. Including law restriction for the main MDLZ countries
  • If possible good understanding how to connect NoSQL with HANA ,
  • Should have experience in Application Support and processes related to it.
  • Able to benchmark the Big Data EcoSystem, analyze system bottlenecks and propose solutions to eliminate them
  • Good understanding of business processes, used data and information and KPI calculation in the area of Consumer Insights Sales and Marketing and the usage of Social Media data in Big Data solutions.
  • Good analytical skills – especially with the Hadoop Ecosystem
  • Deep know how on backend business needs in the areas of Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance.
  • To be able to document use cases, solutions and recommendations;
  • To be able to help program and project managers in the design, planning and governance of implementing projects of any kind;
  • To be able to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments and use this in designing the solution;
  • To be able to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment;
  • Good documentation skills for writing of standard and guidelines
  • To be able to clearly articulate pros and cons of various technologies and platforms
  • Should be able to communicate with business users on their current challenges and come up with solution
  • Find a good ratio between user needs and available  technologies
  • Should have strong communication skills to lower and higher level.
  • Open to new technologies and reporting approaches
  • To be a self-starter;
  • To be able to work in teams, as a big data environment is developed in a team of employees with different disciplines;
  • To be able to work in a fast-paced agile development environment.
  • Cultural awareness in the workplace for working with teams across the globe
  • Experience in projects in FMCG industry
  • Should have experience in leading and inspiring a teams without having line responsibilities
