Senior software engineer layer-2 protocol

Job Title: Software Engineer-Layer 2 Protocol Development Requisition #: 11041 Function: Service Provider Country: India State: Karnataka City: Bangalore Travel Requirements: None Position Type: Employee Position Level: Professional Job Description: A Bachelor's or Master's engineering graduate with strong networking fundamentals, thirst for development in the networking products in the areas of routing and switching. Responsibilities: - Design, development and maintenance of C/C++ based network features for MLX/Fusion Product families. - Write functional, design specification documents and unit test plans. - Good Knowledge of Ethernet Networking standards and concepts. - Interface with other developers, QA and Documentation Teams. - Ability to understand the current software implementations, suggest improvements and address anomalies. Qualifications/Job Responsibilities: - 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Layer 2 switching, Ethernet, VLAN, STP/RSTP/MSTP, 802.1X or similar IEEE Ethernet standards. - Proficiency in C/C++, Linux OS, Data structures, IPC mechanisms, sockets, multi-threading, system programming and other OS level concepts. - Understanding of system architecture for Broadcom/Marvell ASIC's. - Good analytical and debugging skills and usage of tools like gdb/kdb. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Networking certifications like CCNA,CCNP, BCNE,JNCP would be a plus. #LI-SK1
